If you want to enjoy a country experience in a small village while still being close to all of these major attractions, then The Ottery is the place for you.

It has a new wing that houses a kitchen with the latest kitchen appliances. The upper level has two two spacious bedrooms and a modern bathroom. The cottage has  digital TV and WiFi, yet it retains many period details. On a cold winter evening, the log stove warms the living areas to a pleasant temperature and the modern heating system takes care of the rest. The Ottery also enjoys its own secluded and peaceful patio and gardens – perfect for alfresco dining during the summer months.

So summer or winter we believe that you will find The Ottery to be a comfortable retreat from the hustle and bustle of urban life while retaining the amenities of a modern world. Most enjoyable week; better than usual Oct weather. A very warm and friendly welcome received when we visited the South Wraxall Social Club. Highlights of the week our two visits to the award laden “The Longs Arms”. Excellent food cooked by a caring chef. If you fancy food not on the menu give Rob and Liz a couple of days notice. We did that and the filet steak as good as it gets.

How lovely to stay in a roomy, well-appointed cottage. Perfect setting for relaxation. We have had the pleasure to visit Lake Tahoe in 2007. My son was snowboarding for a season at Northstar, while living in Kings Beach. What a beautiful and dramatic landscape. We visited in the early spring so got to see a combination of snow and spring like scenery. You are so fortunate to have two lovely locations to live in. Thank you to Clare for her local caring.

We have had a wonderful time here. A beautiful cosy cottage – so peaceful but so convenient and close to lots of exciting adventures. Town walk at Bradford-On-Avon – such an historic town. Magnificent bath – Fashion Museum superbly interesting. Holburne Museum/Gallery fascinating – but the best is Theatre Royal. Then tried Lacock Village – absolutely amazing. We have had such a good time. We don’t usually go back again to a holiday cottage – but this could well be an exception. Thank you.

January 9 2015 We are now back home from our UK-journey and we would like to thank you for a fantastic stay at The Ottery – the cottage is a real gem, very cosy, well equipped, spotless clean – and because of your kitchen my wife has already a new project on her mind – we will change our worktop in the near future;-) We wanted to change it for a while and go for a marble worktop, but everybody in Germany advised us to use granite being less sensitive etc – but now we are more than ever convinced to use marble… Even the weather was absolutely perfect for walks starting directly from the cottage and we (re)visited Bath and Lacock – but a special highlight (not for Nacho, because he had to wait in the car) was our visit at the spectacular “Festival of Light” at Longleat.

April 10, 2015 Beautiful cottage and garden. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Only slight criticism is the difficulty of using the very trendy bath.

27 Oct – 7 Nov 2014 We love it here. We are the owners and just so enjoy both Brook and The Ottery. We are living in Berkeley, CA – but hope soon to spend months here instead of weeks – as all we seem to do when we are here for a short time is to maintain the cottages and then it is time to leave. We hope all of you enjoy the cottages as much as we do.
